Are YOU a Subversive Healer?

There’s a class of energy healers that I like to call the Subversive Healers.  They don’t have their own energy healing practices. They’re not your typical spiritual entrepreneur.

No, these healers work in some of society’s most entrenched institutions.  They hold positions in industries such as banking and finance, big pharma, higher education, mainstream hospitals, the legal system, and even the military defense industry.

These are people who are extremely sensitive to energy.  They’re on a spiritual path.  They’re psychics, reiki masters, channelers, etc., who have big corporate jobs.

You might wonder, “But are they truly happy working in their chosen profession?”

The ones I know are very happy.

So what is their secret?

They have managed to integrate their spirituality, and psychic and energy healing gifts, into their day to day corporate lives.

I call these people The Subversive Healers because they look and act like any corporate muggle, but underneath that veneer of conformity they are working their magic on the subtle planes.

For example, I have friend who has very strong psychic gifts, and takes a lot of classes developing her abilities.   She also incorporates this knowledge into her work life.

If you go into her office you will find a large rose quartz by her doorway and other assorted rocks arranged on her desk.   To the untrained eye these look like pretty decorations.  But to her they are powerful tools that tell her “who is who” just by the way people approach her office.

You see, the high vibration emanating from the rose quartz repels certain people.  She knows who they are because they hang in the doorway when they need to talk to her, never venturing past her threshold.   Yet, others will take every opportunity to pull up a chair right next to her desk, to discuss their business.

These people have no idea what their actions are broadcasting, but she does.

She’s a top performer in her office because she’s tuned into her intuition.  She knows which prospects are worth pursuing and which are a dead-end.  She’s able to handle the stress of her high-stakes job because she does her inner work to keep her energy balanced.  She has fun at work because she likes people, is good at reading them and she understands this is all a passing illusion.

She’s also an empath, which could be a big downside if she didn’t know how to set boundaries and clear energy.

In fact, most empaths who work in the corporate world suffer greatly if they do not know how to ground themselves, manage their energy, and clear other people’s stuff out of their field.

One of the biggest challenges for untrained empaths is they often have difficulty saying no.  This makes them easy targets for those who would take advantage of their sensitivity and compassion.  People are naturally drawn to empaths, feeling safe to confide their problems, even if they’ve only just met.  This makes the empath susceptible to taking on other people’s burdens, as if they were their own.

It’s no wonder that many empaths hate their jobs.  In addition to the usual work stress, they are highly tuned to interpersonal dynamics and are constantly being pulled into other people’s drama.  Telling an empath to “just let it go” is like asking a dog to stop wagging its tail.

On the positive side, empaths can be truly subversive healers in the workplace.  Here’s what I mean: Because they can tune into the energy of a person or a group, the trained empath can direct and shift that energy.

My husband, James Dempsey, who is a shaman, says that with the proper training, empaths can turn their sensitivity from a curse into a gift.  He has developed techniques that he teaches his empathic clients.  Those who use these techniques consistently have met with great success.  They are able to diffuse conflict, heal dysfunction, and create more harmony in their workplace – all by managing and directing their own energy.

James related this story about one of his clients who was the executive director of a non-profit.  We’ll call this client, Harry.  He came to James, complaining that there was a faction on the board of directors that was creating a bottleneck with the organization’s funding.  They were making Harry’s job nearly impossible because they were not allocating available funds for the day-to-day operations.  In addition, Harry hadn’t been paid in months.  By the time he came to James, Harry had been butting heads with the board and feared that he would have to quit his job because of this impasse.

James taught Harry some techniques to manage and direct his own energy field.  James instructed Harry to make sure he used these techniques before going into every board meeting.  Harry did as James instructed and after 6 months the situation was resolved.

The board released the appropriate funds.  Harry got all of his back pay.  But what’s even more amazing is that all of the troublesome board members resigned!

By directing his energy, Harry turned an untenable situation into a positive outcome.  He truly became a subversive healer – subverting the dysfunctional status quo and bringing health to his organization.

In my own Resonance Repatterning® practice I’ve helped clients disengage from destructive power struggles in their workplaces.  I’ve also supported clients through the stress of corporate downsizing and land new jobs.  By shifting their energy they are able to detach from stressful situations and challenging co-workers and see the situation from a higher perspective.

This allows them to hold their own center of love and balance.  Instead of being sucked into the maelstrom of negativity they are able to raise their vibration.  Now they are a subversive healer, exerting their calming influence.

Subversive healers have a strong, healing presence that brings harmony to emotional chaos and uplifts the workplace environment.  This allows everyone to focus on the work at hand rather than struggle against the emotional contagion that undermines productivity and threatens to de-rail so many projects.  Subversive healers set the energetic tone and everyone benefits, regardless of whether they sense that shift.

You don’t have to have any special psychic skills or be sensitive to energy in order to be a subversive healer.  And you don’t have to interfere with anyone else’s path or impose your will.  Subversive healers tend to their own energy, their own boundaries.

They are like generators emitting a force field of love.  Some people will naturally entrain to this higher vibration.  And as we saw in Harry’s case, those who are repelled by it will often leave the project, the department, or even the company  – of their own accord.

People don’t usually set out to be a subversive healer; it comes as a by-product of their journey.  But imagine how the world of business – and the world itself – could be transformed if more people intentionally stepped into this amazing superpower!
